Recording Issues
Recording cannot start
- In iOS “Settings - Privacy & Security - Microphone”, confirm that Siloz has microphone permission.
- Return to Siloz and confirm that recording consent has been completed. If consent is turned off, Siloz will not start recording.
- Confirm that the device has enough battery and storage, and close other apps that are using the microphone.
- If you are using Bluetooth headphones or an external microphone, disconnect the accessory and try again, or use the phone microphone.
Recording stops or has no sound
Recording may be interrupted by system audio interruptions, device sleep behavior, battery level, storage, Bluetooth route changes, or hardware differences. Siloz will try to save the content already recorded and analyze it locally when feasible.
Daily Reports and Analysis
Siloz performs on-device analysis after recording stops. When analysis is complete, you can review total recorded duration, snore score, decibels, sound clips, and trends in “Daily”.
- If Daily is empty, complete one start-and-stop recording first.
- If the recording was saved but no sound clips appear, this recording may not contain valid sound events.
- If the on-device model cannot complete analysis, keep the recording and try again later, or update to a later version.
Siloz results are for personal records and trend observation only. They are not medical diagnosis, treatment advice, disease-risk assessment, or emergency alerts.
Privacy and Data
The current version of Siloz does not require an account, does not upload recordings, and does not include third-party analytics SDKs. Recordings, sound profiles, daily reports, tags, and settings are stored in the local app sandbox by default.
- Go to “Settings - Privacy & Safety” to enable app lock, privacy playback, and content masking after leaving the app.
- Recording retention supports 1 day, 3 days, 7 days, 30 days, or manual retention.
- “Clear local recordings” will try to delete local recording files that the app can access.
- “Reset local data” deletes local recordings, sound profiles, reports, and settings. Deleted data cannot be restored inside the app.
Copies already stored in system backups may not be affected by deletion inside the app. See the Siloz Privacy Policy for more details.
Automation and Background Recording
Siloz can evaluate your recording preferences and app state locally. The current version does not rely on external system triggers to wake the app and start recording when the app is not running. Please open Siloz first, then start recording manually or according to your settings.
- For overnight recording, confirm that iOS microphone permission is available and the device has enough battery.
- Low battery or device restrictions may affect recording duration and analysis behavior.
- When used alongside white noise or podcasts, behavior depends on the current audio route and system policy.
Playback and Sound Profile
Sound clips can be used to review and correct recognition results. You can mark a false-detected clip as “not snore”; Siloz saves a local false-detection record to reduce similar mistakes.
- The sound profile is a 10-second local sample used to help distinguish your voice. You can delete and re-record it at any time.
- When privacy playback is enabled, companion or ambient sounds are masked. When privacy playback is disabled, these sounds may not be playable.
- While recording is in progress, Siloz may temporarily block sound clip playback.
